I was very surprised, when watching the NASCAR race this past weekend, that they showed a picture of a big grandfather clock and said that was the trophy for the race! I don’t know what the prize money for the race was, but that grandfather clock certainly got my attention! I think grandfather clocks are really cool, and I think that getting one for a trophy would be a lot more satisfying than a simple “gold cup” trophy would be. I mean, after all, a grandfather clock makes a grand statement and it is something that you can actually use! Ask a cup what time it is, and it won’t tell you!
I don’t have a grandfather clock yet, but I’d certainly love to have one.
I’ve found an Internet website called 1-800-4clocks.com that sells grandfather clocks , and I’ve found an interesting blog about grandfather clocks. The blog has a lot of good suggestions and ideas about clocks. The website sells a large variety of brands of clocks, including the Howard Miller clocks. They also sell grandmother clocks, mantel clocks, wall clocks, and atomic clocks.
If and when we are ready to buy a grandfather clock for our own living room, I’ll be checking back with them!
