Reviews have said that men love the smell of vanilla

I’ve read articles that say that men think that vanilla is the sexiest scent on a woman, (probably lends some credence to the saying that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach) and that the scent of grapefruit makes them think that the woman is younger (I think it said by seven to ten years) than she really is.

So therein lies the modern day woman’s dilemma, does she want to smell sexy (like she’s cooking something) or does she want to appear younger?  Hmmmmmm…… I’m not quite sure!  I know that my hubby does not like grapefruit or grapefruit juice, so I guess I’m gonna stick with my vanilla scented colognes!

Juggling finances in a busy life

As I’ve gotten older and technological advances have been made, I have read a lot of personal finance articles, both on the Internet and through magazines and newspapers.

I use the MS Money software program to keep track of all of my finances, and I use my bank’s free e-bill paying service.  As soon as I have the chance to sort through the daily mail, I enter all of the bills (and incoming checks) into my MS Money program, and if there is a bill to be paid I use the Internet e-bill payment program to order the bill paid before the due date.  I enter the bill as paid in my MS Money program, and write it in my manual checkbook.

This is a great way to make sure that bills are paid on time.

Starting out in life to establish credit

When I was a teenager, I opened a checking account, and a savings account.  When I was buying my first car, I needed my parents to co-sign a loan for me.  Those were my first attempts at establishing a credit history for myself.  I always paid the car loan on time, and within a few months I applied for a credit card in my name.

I always made sure that I never charged more money on my credit card than what I was going to be able to pay off in full when the bill came.  As soon as the bill came, I paid it immediately, so as to make sure that I would not forget to pay it by the due date.  I balanced my checkbook faithfully as soon as the statement came in.

The changing job market

I have been perusing the employment advertisements for several weeks now.  I am getting tired of the job that I have and am looking for different employment.  I have gone to a lot of seminars about changing careers, and how the changing face of the demographics is changing the employment opportunities in the United States.

Current projections of employment experts for what the “best jobs” for people to pursue are health related fields.  The demographics of the United States are aging.  The largest generation, the Baby Boom generation is approaching its geriatric era and as it does, it will require more health care services.  With increasing demands there will be higher demand for nurses.  Nurses are currently the largest demographic area in the medical field.

I have two sister-in-laws that are nurses.  They have been encouraging me to go into nursing as well.  They have been suggesting that I look into becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse and have suggested that I look at the LVN schools at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts.

So I will be looking into their LVN Program and LVN Training programs.  I’ve checked out their website, and it looks like a good place to get that kind of training.
