Most of the time when I go to a barbecue place I order either the pulled pork or the beef brisket. If it is the first time in a BBQ joint, I usually stick with pulled pork – hard to mess that up and it gives me a good idea of the taste of their sauces. If the pulled pork is good and I decide to go back, I usually order the brisket. A good brisket is much harder to cook and serve. Most places over cook the brisket and it turns out dry and tough. But if they are a good BBQ joint, their brisket will be moist, falling off the fork tender and have a nice tangy sauce on the side.

My stepdaughter has no ornaments for her tree but she gets a lot of food stamps. I told her to make some handmade ornaments. Like gingerbread men and little playdough figures that you can make from flour, salt and water. These are adorable and not that hard to make. If you use food items, they aren’t costing you anything but time.
There is almost nothing better in this world than home made bread baking in the oven. I like to buy the frozen bread dough loaves at the store, and when I have the time at home I pull them out and cook a couple of loaves.
Today is such a day. I have two loaves of bread rising in the oven, and I should have them ready to eat with supper. Home made bread makes a plain meal a lot more “comfort food”-ish. No one in my house complains about supper when there is a freshly baked loaf of home made bread on the table!
Whenever I get the chance to eat at a Cracker Barrel restaurant, I am there! I love their rustic charm and their food is wonderful! And I really like browsing around their gift shop, too!
